Types release agent

Concrete sticks to the mould that is used to shape the concrete element. Release agents are designed to prevent sticking. A good release agent helps to reduce bug holes, stains and mould corrosion and does not influence the concrete colour.

There are two main release techniques:

opsommingsteken

Film forming or physical release agents ;  they form a thin, strong  film between concrete and mould. These products are often used for immediate released concrete.

opsommingsteken

Chemical release agents they form a thin, strong  film between concrete and mould and react with the free lime in the concrete. These products are used for concrete that cures in the mould. The application rate determinates the final result.

What are the raw materials used for the production of concrete release agents?

For the production of concrete release agents, mineral, vegetable, synthetical and taloils are used. Esters, emulsifiers, anti-corrosion inhibitors, fatty acids, waxes, silicones, soaps a.o. are used to get optimum results.
